The feeling of Las Vegas without having to get on a plane Reviewed by djchitown on

I enjoyed my visit to Harrah's Casino earlier this month. The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable. Plenty of Pillows! The tub is very deep so that you can emerge yourself and let all your troubles flow away.
I didn't realize that Illinois had so many nice folks until I arrived at this casino. The people were so polite and courteous.
I had breakfast there and the buffet is very good... so much so that my wife wanted to drive back out there just to have breakfast.
Pros: Free valet parking for hotel guests; Great breakfast buffet; great rooms; professional and courteous staff.
Cons: People so nice that you feel guilty if you don't tip them.

Stayed at Harrah's for a wedding. The rooms were fairly nice - quite roomy with a small loveseat and chair seating area - though I felt their weekend rate was a bit overpriced. Also, didn't like that wi-fi was an additional $12 a day. I hate feeling nickled-and-dimed for things that really should just be standard.
I'm not much of a gambler, but others in our group won a few hundred dollars on the slots. They seemed to have fun.
I'd give it a 3.5 stars - I really wouldn't be compelled to come back, but our time there was decent.

Harrah's is not my favorite casino, but I don't mind it. I have never had a problem finding a place to play, even on weekends. They have blackjack and craps, which are my games, so I am happy. I like the way the entrance to the casino is decorated. It has this Egyptian theme that is a bit over-the-top, so it gives you a feeling like you are in Vegas or something, and not just Joliet!
